18 year old LaLeon Smothers was arrested in Moss Point yesterday. Police believe he is the one who walked into Huntley's, also known as Buff convenience store, on H613, armed with a gun, and took an undetermined amount of cash from the register.
Smothers is being charged with one count of armed robbery. He made his initial court appearance this morning, and is being held at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center on $100-thousand bond. The MS Dept. of Corrections has a probation hold on Smothers, because he's also a suspect in an armed robbery in Mobile.
