The Pascagoula Shipyard says close to 200 job offers were made at a job fair Saturday. 13 ships are currently under construction, and they’re trying to hire close to 600 new employees before the end of the year.
Former 3 Doors Down bassist Todd Harrell could be spending more time behind bars because he allegedly had drugs sent to him in jail. He was sentenced to two years in prison and six years probation for a deadly DUI crash. He was detained last month in Jackson County after a domestic incident where cops found guns and drugs in his home. Now he faces a possible seven year sentence if convicted.
Former Governor Haley Barbour’s youngest son will be sentenced August 21st. Reeves Barbour was found guilty of misdemeanor simple assault for allegedly hitting a man that complimented his wife. He argued he did it in self-defense against the belligerent individual. He’s facing up to 6 months in jail.
An investigation is underway into the death of a 21-year-old man who apparently drowned after jumping off the Union Falls Bridge in Jones County yesterday afternoon. The victim was with friends when he hit the water of Tallahala Creek along Moselle-Ovett Road and then disappeared. His body was recovered two hours later.

That's because a USA Today readers' poll places the event as the top car show in the nation over 20 other nominees. The results were released Friday after a month of voting. The publication said Cruisin' is considered "America's largest block party."
