A Pascagoula toddler is recovering from injuries received at a daycare.

Some of the top stories we discussed on "Gulf Coast Mornings with Kelly Bennett and Uncle Henry" this Dec. 11th:

A lot of folks are still expressing their shock over what happened to an 18-month old at a Pascagoula Daycare.  Little Dakota Hudson was attacked by a 4 year old at the Pooh and Crew Home Daycare, leaving him with scratches all over his face.  Apparently the 4 year old responsible has been kicked out of another daycare because he caused problems there.  Police and the DHS are investigating.

Police have identified the two people who were wanted for questioning after Brad Helsel died Monday night at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.  Police have not released their identity.   Helsel was assaulted around 11:30 p.m. in the southwest end of the Coliseum’s parking lot, say police. It happened right after a concert. He suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

As 2018 winds down, state lawmakers are gearing up for next year's legislative session. House Speaker Philip Gunn yesterday outlined some of his top priorities that include further tackling the problem of human trafficking in Mississippi through stepped-up training for first responders and school teachers. He also wants to take another look at criminal justice and mental health reform. On the subject of teacher pay raises, he says that will depend on the state's revenue picture come March.
