New details are out in the killing of a University of Mississippi student. NBC's Blayne Alexander says police have released surveillance video from outside of a bar where Ally Kostial was last seen alive on Friday. Two days later, officials tracked fellow classmate Brandon Theesfeld's phone and credit card to a gas station 60 miles away in Memphis. That's where he was arrested -- wearing an Ole Miss T-shirt that appeared to have blood on it. A weapon was also found in his pickup truck. Kostial was from Missouri and Theesfeld from Texas. Both are seen together in at least two Facebook photos from 2016 though it's unclear how they knew each other. No date has been set for Theesfeld's bond hearing.

Still no word on whether extensive job cuts at Nissan will have an impact on their plant in Canton, Mississippi. Nissan is planning to axe more than ten-thousand jobs worldwide, according to Japanese media. This is in addition to nearly five-thousand cuts the Japanese automaker announced in May. The new round of cuts will include early retirements. Nissan employs nearly 140-thousand people worldwide, including more than 36-thousand in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The company has plants in Mississippi and Tennessee,  The Japanese news report says Nissan will announce the job cuts on Thursday.

President Trump keeps insisting the Russia investigation was a hoax and a witch hunt. Talking with reporters at the White House yesterday, Trump dismissed former Special Counsel Robert Mueller's [[ MULL-ers ]] testimony in Congress. Mueller testified that his nearly two-year investigation was definitely not a hoax nor a witch hunt.

Authorities say accused child sex trafficker and Manhattan financier Jeffrey Epstein is recovering after he was found injured in his jail cell in New York City. Local media report Epstein was found Wednesday evening on the floor of his cell in a semi-conscious state with marks on his neck. 

Are you a “zombie eater”? According to a new survey, 88% of respondents admitted to being “zombie eaters” – meaning, they eat while staring at a screen – whether it’s the television, their phone, tablet or laptop. The survey found that the average American will look at their phone more than two times during a meal. And the average American will only have five “screen-free” meals per week. More from the survey ... 91% say they watch TV while eating a meal or snack and 49% said they do so regularly. 83% of those surveyed said they’ve had their food go cold while deciding what to watch. And 86% said they are sometimes so preoccupied with their screens that they’ve forgotten to eat. (SWNS)
