IS DODGEBALL LEGALIZED BULLYING?
Researchers in Canada have concluded that dodgeball is nothing more than legalized bullying and should be banned immediately.
They found that some students use dodgeball to dehumanize and harm their classmates, which turns the game into an “unethical tool of oppression.” (WTVR-TV)A Hattiesburg woman is being charged with second degree murder.Breanna McClendon allegedly shot the victim at a Circle K on H49, then drove him to Hattiesburg, where he was eventually taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.Gulfport PD is looking for a witness who was at the store, and helped the victim get back into the vehicle, not realizing they’d been shot.

Ole Miss will play a do-or-die third game today in the Super Regionals. The Rebs lost their opening game against Arkansas 11-2, but bounced back yesterday, winning 13-5. The Bulldogs are going onto the College World Series after defeating Stanford 8-1 in the second game. Mississippi State won their first game, beating Stanford 6-2.
The MS Highway Patrol is trying to cut back on long lines for driver’s licenses with their Jump Start Program, which kicked off over the weekend at several stations.Appointments can be scheduled for teens to get their permits/licenses on the second and fourth weekends of each month from 8-noon.Parents can start making those appointments now at 9 locations, including H67 in Biloxi, and Tatum Industrial Drive in Hattiesburg. Governor Phil Bryant is requesting a federal fisheries disaster declaration for MS due to the Bonnet Carre Spillway opening.Scientists are using fishery independent methods to sample oyster reefs, shrimp, crabs and finfish and increase the number of sampling locations as they continue to monitor the impact of the opening of the spillway on coast.A task force is reporting to the Governor weekly.
"The Secret Life of Pets 2" is this week's top movie. The sequel to the 2016 animated film earned just over 47-million-dollars in its first weekend in North American theaters. Coming in second is "Dark Phoenix". In third place is Disney's live action version of "Aladdin" followed by "Godzilla: King of the Monsters." The Elton John movie "Rocketman" rounds out this week's Top Five.
Working from home becoming more common … The number of people working from home has skyrocketed in the last two decades. According to a survey by TrueCar, 62% more people are working remotely now compared to 2000. No surprise … The survey found that working from home benefits both the employee and the employer. Workers don’t have to deal with long commutes, and businesses have reduced operational costs and access to talented employees from all over the country. (The Ladders)
THE MOST ELIGIBLE ONLINE DATERS DRINK A LOT AND LIVE AT HOME
According to a new survey, the most eligible online daters live with their parents. And drink. A lot.
Surprisingly, dating profiles with the phrases “heavy drinker” and “living with parents” ended up getting right-swiped the most.
The survey also found it was a good strategy to reveal some personal information, such as whether they want children someday.
It seems people aren’t looking for someone who appears perfect. Instead, it’s all about being unique and memorable. (SWNS Digital)
TAKE A VACATION AT THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION
NASA has been working on a program that will allow tourists to live at the International Space Station for up to a month at a time.
If they pull this off, commercial companies will be able to lease time up there and bring people aboard, even if they don’t have any educational or scientific reason to go.
Of course, it won’t be cheap. A single trip will end up costing over $50 million. (The New York Times)
