Chris Broussard: Kobe Bryant's Death is the Worst Sports Tragedy of My Life
Chris Broussard: “This is the worst experience I’ve ever had during my lifetime around sports. Magic Johnson would have been second for me, but his became a redemption story. The suddenness and the finality of this -- like it keeps hitting me that Kobe is gone and he’s not coming back. He’s not sick, and we’re not seeing him here and there – it really hits me like a gut punch. What made it so devastating for me, was this was a guy who had transitioned from basketball to life after basketball as smoothly, seamlessly, and successfully, as anyone I’ve ever seen. He did more in those 3 years than many athletes do in their entire lifetime.” (Full Audio Above)

Listen to Chris Broussard and Rob Parker discuss the heartbreaking death of beloved NBA legend Kobe Bryant, whose death sent shockwaves of despair across the globe on a day the world will never forget.

Bryant’s death at the age of 41 was one of the saddest days in the history of sports, and the tributes and respects came in the bunches on Monday from around the sports world who put talk of the upcoming Super Bowl on the back burner.

Check out the audio above as Broussard details why he thought Sunday was the saddest day of his career, and explains why Bryant meant so much to the basketball community not only as one of the greatest players of all time, but one of the most intelligent and successful entrepreneurs in the sport as well, whose second act away from the NBA might have become as glorious as the legacy he had created on the court.
