Eric Mangini: Jets Firing Robert Saleh Seemed "Impulsive"

Eric Mangini on the Jets firing Robert Saleh: "It doesn't totally surprise me. Woody (Johnson) fired me after going 9-7. I had Brett Favre and he had gotten hurt, and we had a pretty good team. I thought the fact that he brought Robert back this year was surprising. But for him to fire him when he did, it's not really Woody's M.O. He's never fired a head coach during the season. The Jets organization as a whole hasn't fired a head coach during the season since 1976, so that's out of the pattern. But the game was in the U.K. Woody was the ambassador to the U.K. I'm sure he wanted a good showing. This comes on the heels of the really disappointing Denver Broncos loss. When you consider what the expectations were going into the season, versus where they are and the disappointing losses, I think Woody just impulsively decided he was going to try something different."

Former Jets HC Eric Mangini joins The Doug Gottlieb Show. Mangini gives insight on how he believes Woody Johnson came to the decision to fire Robert Saleh, given what he experienced during his tenure and eventual firing by the Jets in 2008. Mangini gives his thoughts on Aaron Rodgers' role in Saleh's firing.
