Lots of fun events are coming up this weekend along our beautiful, Mississippi Gulf Coast.

First, I want to wish a happy 75th birthday to the Naval Battalion Construction Center in Gulfport, home of the Atlantic Fleet Seabees!

The Southern Summer Arts and Crafts Festival is being moved to Saturday, June 24th because of the wet weather we’re expecting this weekend.


It’s the Mobile BayBears and Biloxi Shuckers at MGM Park in Biloxi at 6:35 tonight.

There’s an audience-interactive murder mystery dinner or dessert show performed by the senior students of WINGS Performing Arts at the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center at & Friday and Saturday night, 3 Sunday afternoon.  Reservations are recommended. (897-6039 or lmdc.org)

The Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Center on Government Street in Ocean Springs is having their “Best of Oxford Film Festival” with several blocks of films.  7-9 Friday and Saturday night (818-2878 or themarcyc.org)

It’s “Amadeus” at the Biloxi Little Theatre, shows are at 8 Friday and Saturday.  At the Bay St. Louis Little Theatre, it’s “The Bad Seed”.  (4blt.org and bsllt.org)


“Shopping on the Avenue” is a new, festival style event with vendors, food and entertainment in downtown Biloxi on the west end of Howard Avenue.  Runs from 10-5 Saturday (374-4444)

The Biloxi Blessing of the Fleet and Shrimp Festival is this weekend.  The festival runs from 10-9pm Saturday at Point Cadet, the Blessing of the Fleet is at 2pm Sunday afternoon.  (kmiller@biloxi.ms.us 388-2443)

Beauvoir is celebrating Jefferson Davis’ birthday with food and re-enactors Saturday from 9-5pm.  (388-4400 visitbeauvoir.org)


There’s a Feed the Need Benefit Concert and Fish Fry Sunday at Government Street Grocery in downtown Ocean Springs.  Tix are $20 at the door, or $15 with a canned food donation.  (596-5198)
