JACKSON, Miss (WJTV)
Here's your 3am Tropical Storm Gordon update.
Top sustained winds have decreased from 70mph to 50mph since the storm has been over land in the past four hours. Gordon made landfall with top winds of 70mph along the Alabama/Mississippi state line at around 10pm Tuesday. Wind gusts north of Pascagoula and Mobile may still reach tropical storm force over the next few hours. The northeast quadrant of Gordon is the most dangerous part of the storm. Quick spin-up tornadoes will be possible from the Pine Belt to the Gulf Coast through sunrise Wednesday. There is a MARGINAL risk of severe weather through central Mississippi Wednesday. While the immediate coastline may receive around a foot of rain it is more likely that the Pine Belt and central Mississippi will receive about 2 to 5 inches. We will monitor this situation all night and have updates on-air and online at the top of each hour. More live updates from the Pine Belt and central Mississippi are coming up on our Wednesday morning show on WJTV 12.
