Health Department Doesn't Expect Problem With "Vaccine Tourism"


With Mississippi becoming only the second state to open coronavirus vaccinations to everyone 16 and older, our top health official isn't worried about a surge of visitors from other parts of the country coming here to get their shots. Doctor Thomas Dobbs says the Health Department will monitor the so-called "vaccine tourism" to see if it becomes a problem. The Mississippi vaccinations are intended for state residents and those from other states who work in Mississippi-- but no effort is made to guarantee that other people aren't getting shots too. The Health Department says some Mississippians have done the same thing, going to other states to get vaccinated,
